Zoonoses Research Center

Common diseases between humans and animals (zoonosis) are a large group of diseases caused by bacterial, parasitic, fungal, and viral agents. The most important prevalent zoonotic diseases include brucellosis, leishmaniasis, hydatidosis, salmonellosis, rabies, anthrax, Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF), dermatophytoses, etc. in Ardabil province and Iran.

Zoonoses Research Center of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, based on the vote issued in the 281st meeting of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education on 21/2/2021, succeeded in obtaining a basic license and in line with its mission to develop education and research. This research center tries to identify common infectious diseases between humans and animals, as well as, identify reservoirs, local vectors, and the geographical distribution pattern of these diseases in Ardabil province and adjacent areas in the northwest of Iran. In addition, we try to implement appropriate control and preventive programs by the health system to solve the health problems of society.

Zoonoses Research Center has an independent research council and is ready to cooperate with national and international researchers with the support of the honorable vice president of research and technology of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences.
